We have improved car comfort management in collaboration with the European Consortium DOMUS.

The DOMUS project (Design OptiMisation for efficient electric vehicles based on a USer-centric approach) aims to define new models of interaction between the air conditioning system and the driver in the automotive sector. This is an international project involving Denso Thermal Systems SpA, part of the Denso Corporation Group, one of the world’s leading Tier 1 suppliers.

The project involved the air conditioning system of the car on several levels, to allow the user an ad hoc setting of the temperature inside the car in two modes: automatic or manual.

UX and UI have been designed by defining the interaction model on board the vehicle with the aim of giving back to the car occupants the necessary information to set the ideal air conditioning in a simple way.

HOW WE DESIGN
/

The system has been designed with a “holistic” and user-focused approach to ensure absolute personalised comfort, thanks to thermal systems distributed in different zones of the passenger compartment that allow the 4 main zones to be independently climate controlled.

/

In order to simplify the management of the air conditioning system of the car, we have developed an application able to communicate with all the components of the active system for the thermal comfort of the car starting from the onboard HMI, integrating the commands of the different hardware components, such as actuators for the customized management of air diffusion, heating of seats and glass surfaces and radiant panels integrated in different areas of the interior of the car.
